Every restaurant within a 50-mile radius of New Orleans claims to have the greatest roast beef sandwich, but Short Stop really does, especially with extra mayo. It's a multi-napkin affair as gravy runs down your arm, but that's how you know it's good. The fried seafood po-boys and other meat sandwiches are also popular at this humble little spot off Airline Highway, but the roast beef is the ultimate. Pair it with a bag of Zapp's and an ice cold Barq's for the quintessential New Orleans lunch.
