When people around the world think of the traditional Mardi Gras parade in New Orleans, they probably think of Rex. Started in 1872, Rex and its all-male krewe is responsible for the concept of the day parade, as well as the official Mardi Gras colors (purple, green, gold).

Generations of New Orleans natives and millions of visitors have enjoyed Rex as the culimation of the Mardi Gras season every year.

Head to Uptown New Orleans on St. Charles Avenue (parade starts at the intersection of Napoleon and South Claiborne Avenues) to party with Rex and celebrate the Mardi Gras season. Expect traditional floats, marching bands, a ton of beads, and more!
