This workshop is intended to help service-learning students think critically about the history of race and racism in New Orleans. Through the workshop, participants will explore an incomplete timeline of racism and resistence, and the connections these histories have to current issues facing New Orleans.
What to expect:
? Service learners will have an opportunity to explore concepts and histories of racism in New Orleans.
? By the end of this workshop, students will have the opportunity to reflect on their own identities and histories in relation to community engagement in New Orleans
? Participants will have an opportunity to reflect on Tulane’s relationship with New Orleans and will think critically about the role of the university in society.
*Workshops with 8 RSVP's or less will be cancelled/ rescheduled.
