FOCUS ON BALANCE: Therapeutic Tai Chi, Qigong, and Wellness ProgramMarch 16, 17, 2019 in Metairie, 9 am - 4:30 pm
This two-day course focuses on balance and the application of Susan Welsh’s Tai Chi, Qigong, and Wellness Program to fall prevention, better balance during all activities, and core strengthening. It is the third course in Susan Welsh’s Therapeutic Tai Chi, Qigong, and Wellness Teacher Certification Program.
This course has been approved for 12 hrs CEU credit by Louisiana Physical Therapy Board for PTs and PTAs and approval pending by LA State Board of Medical Examiners for OTs and OTAs.Practicing Tai Chi and Qigong can be very beneficial for you, your patients, and your practice. Research continues to support the health benefits of Tai Chi and Qigong, more medical and health facilities are including Tai Chi in their clinical and wellness programs, and clients are specifically asking about classes in Tai Chi and Qigong.
Dr. Welsh’s Therapeutic Tai Chi, Qigong, and Wellness Program is simple, fun, easy-to-learn, and evidence-based. Benefits of Tai Chi and Qigong practice include fall prevention, improved physical functioning (better balance, strength, mobility, posture, coordination, agility, body awareness, reaction time) and better quality of life (stress resilience plus better sleep, digestion, immune function, cognitive functions). Add wellness principles of fitness promotion, injury prevention and stress reduction, and you have a complete program to help you and your patients and clients live healthier, more energetic and comfortable lives!
Teacher certification is a new possibility that includes completion of 4 weekend courses plus individual mentoring and testing.
Whether you are a first-timer or want to refresh what you’ve learned in a previous class, you’ll leave feeling relaxed and energized, with new skills to help you and your patients/clients feel better and move easier, with more confidence.
