Event Details

For the past four summers, we have had the privilege of engaging in missions in New Orleans, Louisiana, with Lakeshore Church. Our students joined members of this church plant to host VBS, share the Gospel at a nearby park, feed the homeless, and beautify the city. We have seen people surrender their lives to Christ and have helped develop hundreds of  connections for future ministry in surrounding communities. This year from July 21 to July 27, we have the opportunity to return to New Orleans to partner with Lakeshore again. We will have the privilege to promote the Gospel endeavors of the church to the nearby community through a variety of strategic ministries. We hope you will join us this summer in making much of Jesus Christ among the nations!

FAQs
Where will we be staying?
This year, we will be staying at a nearby church, Williams Boulevard Baptist Church. This church is recommended by Lakeshore and is located at 3000 Williams Blvd., Kenner, LA 70065.  It sleeps 85 and is furnished with bunk beds. It includes separate showers, a full-service kitchen, and a gym.  Williams Blvd. Baptist is approximately 15 minutes away from Lakeshore Church.

How much will the trip cost and when is payment due?
The trip will cost $225 per student. This is the cost of the trip without any fund raising. We do plan to have at least one fundraiser to bring this cost down. This price will cover required resources, travel, lodging, most food, supplies, and gas. A deposit of $75 is due on June 23 (Must register by June 23). The rest of the payment is due by July 14. Each student will need an additional $75-$100 to pay for meals and activities when we tour the city.

Are there any requirements for going on the trip?
Included in the trip cost is the price of Life on Mission by Willis and Coe, a book about living out the Great Commission in all of life’s contexts, not merely formal mission trips. Each person going on the trip must have read chapters 1-8 of the book before we leave for New Orleans. These books will be available from Thomas Walters.
In addition, each student must also work to become familiar with the “3 Circles” evangelism tract. Be prepared to share the Gospel using this tool. Students need to be able to
