Join us for the opening reception for the Africa In Africa visual arts exhibition.  Join us on Friday, April 12th at 6pm at the New Orleans Art Center, 3330 St. Claude Avenue, New Orleans, LA. The exhibit will be on display from April 12 through May 6th.
This exhibition is a collaborative effort with a purpose - raising funds for minority medical and health professional students. The exhibit was conceived by international artist, Gustavo Duque and African Art Collector, Professor William E. Bertrand, PhD with the understanding that universal creativity bridges the traditional arts as seen through the prism of different cultures, religions, and art - a diversity of perspectives for our diverse society brought together by the common language of artistic expression.
The exhibit will also showcase photographs by Dr. Fred Husserl and installation art by Matilde Alberny. The show highlights the true diversity of tribal arts and how traditional images have informed and inspired current artists.
Proceeds from the exhibition will support National Medical Fellowships mission.
