From There to Here: A Walk on the River
Walkshop led by Asam Crosson
Participants will be provided with a pinhole camera containing multiple compartments with multiple exposures. Each participant will use the pinhole camera to document the walk. The walk will begin at the Canal Street Ferry Terminal where we will take the ferry to Algiers Point. A walk along the levee and batture (per Miriam-Webster: Batture: the alluvial land between a river at low-water stage and a levee) will take place in Algiers at sunset before returning to Canal Street via ferry. Along the walk topics pertaining to the history and contemporary use of the batture land, the River, and Algiers Point will be discussed.
