Carnevale then spread from medieval Italy to the French Bourbon kings and eventually to France’s colonies, including Louisiana. In 1718, Governor Bienville established Mardi Gras in New Orleans!
Learn more about Italian culture and Italy’s connection to New Orleans through the American Italian Cultural Center’s winter 2019 Italian language classes. All classes are taught by Alessandro, a native Italian teacher, and have a friendly, motivating atmosphere. Our small class sizes allow personalized instruction and foster friendships amongst students and the teacher.

About Italian Language Lessons at the American Italian Cultural Center
The American Italian Cultural Center (AICC) Italian Language Lessons are offered in four different levels carefully designed on the basis of the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Language (ACTFL) national proficiency scale. If you are unsure of your course level, please call the AICC at 504-522-7294

Advanced/Superior Classes
This course is recommended for students who have completed the novice and intermediate Italian courses and are approaching a conversational level. Students will increase their proficiency and will be able to speak about basic situations using present, past and future tenses. Proficiency on the ACTFL scale: from Intermediate High to Advanced Low.  

Course Information
This course is held at the American Italian Cultural Center located at 537 South Peters Street, in downtown New Orleans. There will be a total of eight, 1.5 hour classes from 4:30 - 6:00 pm on Mondays. The winter session runs January 7 - February 25.
A minimum of three students is needed for a class to be held. If the class you register for does not meet the minimum requirement your enrollment will be moved to a different session or you may request a full refund.

Early Bird Rate: $175-225* (Until November 30, 2018)
Holiday Special: $195-245* (December 1 - 24, 2018)
General Registration: $225-$275* (After December 24)
*Non-member registrations include an annual membership to the American Italian Cultural Center (valid date of purchase - December 31, 2019). Member
