The 2019 Sustainable Youth Ministry training is a 2 day conference suited for churches of any size and youth ministry capacity. All workshops facilitated by Ministry Architects consultant Mary Beth Abplanalp.

Why Sustainable Ministry Matters
- The Anatomy of Stuckness: Fundamental misunderstandings that keep ministries
from moving forward strategically
- The Crisis of Capacity: Chronic underinvestment and numbers that matter
- The Dance Floor: A systems approach to ministry
- Three Essential Staff Roles: Architect, contractor, and laborer
- Two Components of Sustainability: Architecture and Atmosphere

- Recap of Friday’s Key Learnings
- Continuing with focus on Implementation in Children and Youth Ministry
- Getting the Job Done: Rhythmic week and monkey management, managing ourselves and our ministries well - Where to begin: Building systems in ministry. Have you ever said, “Something is better than nothing...?"
- Building the Foundation: Calendars, Control documents, budgets, vision, etc.
- Self-Assessment of our own Church Ministries: Builder’s Checklist
Afternoon Workshops
- Building the team: Volunteer recruitment and management
- In-depth guided work session on the step-by-step Volunteer Recruitment process. Job Descriptions, potential volunteers, asking/equipping/appreciating volunteers.
- Open Q&A with Mary Beth Abplanalp
Trinity Church and the Episcopal Diocese of Louisiana envision sharing this resource with churches throughout New Orleans and the surrounding area. Traditional, emergent, evangelical, creative types welcome.
