2018 was a historic year for Greater New Orleans largely because of our unmatched level of partnership between individuals, organizations and parishes. The 2019 GNO, Inc. Annual Luncheon, "Come Together: The Power of Partnership" will celebrate this cooperation, and explore the challenges of tomorrow that will require continued collaboration. As well, the 2019 Board of Directors and NextGen Council will be announced and installed.

Business Development
Formosa Petrochemical - $9.4B and 1,200 jobs in St. James Parish
Avondale Marine – After eight years of work, a purchase was completed and Jefferson Parish will see Avondale reopen
DXC Technology – Grand opening of the 2,000+ job Digital Transformation Center in New Orleans
Dixie Brewery – Back in business in New Orleans East, backed by the New Orleans Saints & Pelicans
Technology – #1 for technology growth in the USA
Business Environment
National Flood Insurance Program [NFIP] extended and reformed in Washington DC
GNOu training programs implemented with Tulane, Xavier, UNO and other schools
A range of programs for young professionals, including 2nd Annual Emerge Summit with record attendance, and the inaugural NextGen Policy Series
Launched the New Orleans Music Economy Initiative [NOME], to develop the music sector as a key economic driver
Launched GNO Future, a long term economic development strategy to create a region where our kids and grandkids – everyone – can stay and prosper
