The First Ever Gluten Free King Cake Show Down! In New Orleans, it's really hard as a Celiac or Gluten Free person to watch everyone else eating all the King Cakes. Finally, we have options-- and this year, we have so many options, it's hard to know where to start!

The First Ever Gluten Free King Cake Show Down!
In New Orleans, it's really hard as a Celiac or Gluten Free person to watch everyone else eating all the King Cakes. Finally, we have options-- and this year, we have so many options, it's hard to know where to start!
Introducing... the Gluten Free King Cake Show Down!
Guests will arrive at 10am, and be able to sample King Cakes from 10-11:30. Each chef will be allowed to stand up and talk about what's in their cake, ingredients, how it's made, what type of kitchen, etc. Voting will be tallied from 11:30-11:45 and winners will be announced at 11:45.
Unfortunately, we're unable to do a blind taste testing because of the nature of many people's allergies and intolerances, safety first! Each king cake will be labelled with ingredients & necessary information and cut into bite sized portions.
Entry is $10 payable in cash or credit at the door, or via EventBrite ($12.24 after fees) and gets you entry into the event, a ticket for door prizes, as well as sample sized portions of each of the king cakes available. Each person will also receive one ballot to make their voices heard!
a top cake will be chosen in the following categories:
Best Gluten Free Traditional
Best Gluten Free Flavored/Filled
Best Gluten Free / Dairy Free / Vegan
Best Non-Traditional Gluten Free King Cake
Vendors will be posted as they become available but you can expect to be able to try at least 4-5 different cakes and up to 12 individual king cake types!
Afterwards, guests are invited to stay to try out Catalino's 100% Gluten Free menu (additional costs at menu-prices apply).
Proceeds will be split, after taxes and fees, the Gluten Free Guide to New Orleans will receive 50% of all proceeds to go towards educating the community, 25% will go to Catalino's for the use of their facility, and 25% will go towards reimbursing the other gluten free bakeries who participated for their efforts.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
There are no ID or minimum age requirements to enter, however if you plan on staying for lunch and BYOB, you'll need the appropriate state ID. We also ask that
