As the old saying goes: "Give someone a cocktail and they'll drink for a day. Teach someone to make cocktails and they'll drink for a lifetime." And while it may be true that libations taste better when someone else is making them for you, that'll all change when you learn mixology's building blocks. In this hands-on class, you'll mix up 3 drinks, learn your way around the fundamental bar tools, and master 3 essential "templates" that serve as a gateway for endless riffing. Armed with these templates, you'll unlock your creativity and discover how to tailor-make a drink to your whim, spirit of choice, and available ingredients. Cheers! This class is strictly 21+. IDs will be checked upon arrival.

About the Instructor
Murf Reeves spent his formative years between the East Coast (just outside of Philadelphia) and Pacific Northwest. In high school, his soul first pulled him toward New Orleans through the music of Dr. John, Professor Longhair, and The Meters. From there, his tandem love affair with food and music unfolded, taking him from Berklee School of Music to Boston's bars and kitchens, and eventually down to pre-Katrina New Orleans, where it all culminated. During his tenure in the kitchen at Stella!, Maximo's, and Bistro Maison de Ville, he developed a radio personality on WWOZ and raised a daughter. Eventually, he shifted posts from kitchen to bar, honing his cocktail craft at institutions like Bombay Club, Bar Tonique, and Sylvain. Over four years at Erin Rose, he began a foray into cocktail education. Now, you can find him shaking and stirring at Chickie Wah-Wah, where is ultimate goal is to find joy experimenting with life's many different flavors.
