---About the RTA--- The RTA, created in 1983 by the Louisiana Legislature, is a political subdivision of the state. Today RTA serves as the first, and only, delegated management system in the country. Transdev North America, Inc., the world leader in transportation management, currently operates the RTA under this delegated management contract. Everyday more than 35,000 people, on average, use mass transit as their primary mode of transportation in this city and they rely on RTA’s services and employees to meet their transportation needs. RTA employees are among the most highly skilled and dedicated in the nation, with our staff of nearly 300 bus and rail operators, averaging 15 years of service.
