Congregation Coffee Roasters is a small start-up company conceived in the back of a shotgun house in New Orleans, April 2015. While the creators Ian Barrilleaux and Eliot Guthrie hail from opposite ends of the country, Seattle and New Orleans, their complementary culinary skill sets would lay the foundation to launch a successful coffee roasting company. Congregation Coffee Roasters' (whose name is inspired by the collective noun for a group of alligators) mission is to provide New Orleans and the Gulf Region with quality roasted whole bean specialty coffee. The company's focus leans heavily on crafting consistent blends, as well as single origin offerings, for restaurant wholesale and retail. We believe in making specialty coffee accessible to the public with thoughtfully designed flavor profiles which build bridges between historical and present trends in coffee. We emphasize communication and education in our offerings to target our audiences's desires. While most of our coffees fall in the spectrum of medium and light roasts, we are sensitive to the history that dark roast and chicory plays in our market and we do our best nod to traditional palates while at the same time pushing the regions boundries.
