MARCH 22-23, 2019 at The Pontchartrain Center
The full public agenda can be found HERE.
MARCH 21:  PRACTICE DAY
This is the official mandatory practice day for all Bayou Regional participating teams. No official matches are played on practice day, but you can still watch the teams test their machines and tweak their designs.  This is a great day for media to attend and get a quieter background for interviews with team members and event officials!
MARCH 22: DAY 1 OF QUALIFYING MATCHES
Friday begins in true New Orleans style with the annual Bayou Regional robot parade!  Find your seat to catch the official Bayou Regional game throw and our coveted alligators! Following the parade are the opening ceremonies, followed by the start of the official robot matches. Friday is also our VIP day! If you would like more information on the VIP or to inquire about an event invitation, please email us!
MARCH 23:  QUALIFYING MATCHES, FINAL ROUNDS AND AWARDS
Qualifying matches continue through lunch on Day 2, but only after another celebration of our teams, mentors and volunteers! Join in the annual Bayou Regional Second Line and stay for the opening ceremonies!  Once the qualifying matches are over, teams not continuing into the final rounds begin to breakdown and pack their robots, so if you’re hoping to get a good glimpse of all the teams have to show you, you’ll want to arrive before noon.  Concessions are open to the public and you can find teams to chat with and learn from as they break and prepare for the final rounds.  Finals are the highest point of the Bayou Regional, where teams compete in 4 levels of best two out of three rounds to earn the title of Bayou Regional Winner and their spot at the World Championship in Houston!  Stay for the awards to see which teams win the Judged Awards, which recognize team accomplishments that don’t involve match scores.  You can learn more about the Judged Awards and their strict criteria HERE.

The FIRST Robotics Competition Bayou Regional is home to FIRST Robotics Competition teams competing in Louisiana and Mississippi.  These high-school level teams, with the guidance of adult mentors, have 6 weeks to design, build, and program their competitive robot to perform a series o
