In this three hour hands on workshop, you will learn bonsai basics and you will create your very own bonsai tree. If you have ever wanted to learn the art of bonsai and how these living works of art are created, then this workshop is for you! Bring your own bonsai pot if you wish as special bonsai soil will be provided. What to bring: sharp pair of scissors, garden gloves, and apron. Soil, wire, and a Juniper will be provided.
Registration required, $35/Class limit 15
Jim Osborne is a native to New Orleans and an “Award Winning Bonsai Artist” winning the 2008 Vaughn Banting award. He has served as a Board of Director for the past seven years and is past Vice-President and past President of the Bonsai Society. He has displayed his personal bonsai collection in the fall and spring New Orleans Botanical Garden Flower Show for many years. Jim has also displayed his bonsai at Art in Bloom in the New Orleans Museum of Art.
