On October 24th and 25th, the Friends of Longue Vue Steering Committee will present the Design Symposium. The Longue Vue House is a rare treasure: a home created to compliment existing gardens, with the gardens and interior design both created by renowned early twentieth century artist Ellen Biddle Shipman. For 28 years, we have celebrated this unique legacy through a symposium style exploration into contemporary interior landscape and floral design.
This year we are pleased to welcome award-winning designer and author, Charlotte Moss, as the keynote speaker for Symposium. She is a celebrated interior designer and author, having published ten books over the past 34 years. She has received numerous honors, including the New York School of Interior Design’s Centennial Medal, Housing Works’ Groundbreaker’s Award, The Royal Oak Foundation’s Timeless Design award, and is named one of Elle Décor Grand Master List of Top Designers.
Joining Charlotte Moss will be Margot Shaw, the founder and editor-in-chief of Flower magazine. Since beginning the magazine in 2009, Margot has shepherded it’s growth to a bimonthly publication available in all 50 states and 17 countries. Her book, Living Floral: Entertaining and Decorating with Flowers was released in March 2019 and will be featured during Symposium.
Join us at the Audubon Tea Room for this exciting event. Ticket price includes a luncheon, lecture, and book signing. Selected items from the Shop at Longue Vue will be on display and available for purchase.
Be sure to also purchase a ticket for the Design Symposium Patron Party, which will be the evenning preceeding the Symposium at Longue Vue.
