The Louisiana Museum Foundation and the Louisiana State Museum present three programs to accompany The Baroness de Pontalba and the Rise of Jackson Square exhibition. In the first program the exhibition’s curator will talk about what he discovered researching the exhibit at the Pontalba château in France and his further thoughts on Jackson Square. The second program will present two contemporary artists and their reimagining of the Baroness. The third program will be a visual exploration of the sumptuous Hôtel de Pontalba by the U.S. State Department’s cultural heritage manager at the U.S. Embassy in Paris.

Topic-Afterimage:Two Contemporary Artists Reimagine the Baroness de Pontalba
From a grand opera to last year’s Rex parade, the Baroness de Pontalba lives on in the city’s memory. Two contemporary artists present their reimaginings of the Baroness and talk about the motivations behind their work.
