It's finally happening again!! Dysphagia in Motion is so excited to host another Continuing Education Event! We've grown out of our old event space and happy to announce our new home at the Cotton Mill in the Warehouse District!

SPEAKERS:
Margaret (Maggie) Homer, MCD, CCC-SLP, will be presenting a "Condensed Review of the Charleston Swallowing Conference," an event held every 4-5 years featuring the latest research in dysphagia from international researchers and clinicians. Maggie is currently the Clinical Speech and Rehab Specialist and Stroke Program Supervisor at Touro Infirmary and has extensive experience with the evaluation and treatment of dysphagia in both acute and rehabilitation settings. She hosts a monthly Journal Club for local hospital SLPs and is actively involved in furthering education for her colleagues and interdisciplinary teams.
Judith (Jodie) Fornadley, M.S., CCC-SLP, will be providing an excellent presentation on "Laryngeal Drama," focusing on voice/swallowing/breathing complications after post-extubation. Jodie is a voice-focused SLP who works at the Ochsner Voice Center, an interdisciplinary clinic where patients are evaluated by a laryngologist and an SLP to address all aspects of healthy voice use. She also evaluates and treats swallowing disorders. She has prior experience working in acute care and with the head and neck cancer population. She has her B.S. from Penn State and her M.S. from Vanderbilt University.

* TIME: Doors open at 5:00PM so please feel free to come early and meet your peers! Our first speaker will present at 5:40 SHARP, please ensure you're here on time if you wish to collect CEUs for this event.
* CEUs: This lecture will be made available for 0.2 (two hours) of Continuing Education Units (CEU) for maintenance of Louisiana State Licensure and ASHA Certification Maintenance. Attendees must self-report CEU hours.
* REFRESHMENTS: We will be serving wine and sangrias. Come ready to learn, ask questions, and mingle with your peers.
* PARKING: There's plenty of paid street parking
